Every small change needs a developer
Routine text and photo changes are hard to make without disturbing the layout. Adding a service or updating an offer means asking a developer for help.
WordPress & custom themes
Custom WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores, built on a modern, maintainable foundation and easy for your team to manage.
In short
DJWP builds custom WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores for companies and individual clients in the US and Europe. Each site gets editing tailored to its content, fast pages and a clear handover — on a custom theme or a suitable existing one.
Problems we solve
Routine text and photo changes are hard to make without disturbing the layout. Adding a service or updating an offer means asking a developer for help.
The site has accumulated plugins and add-ons, and pages now load slowly. Nobody knows which tools are still needed or what might stop working if one is removed.
Your theme has undocumented changes, and past updates have caused problems. Nobody knows what depends on what, so maintenance gets postponed and the list of pending updates grows.
Your WooCommerce store has grown, but its setup no longer fits how you sell. Product options, filters and checkout need workarounds that make everyday store management harder.
What you get
Custom themes are built on the Roots stack: Bedrock, Sage, Acorn and Tailwind CSS.

How we build
For custom themes, we use Roots Sage and Bedrock with documented code and tracked changes. We explain the setup at handover so another developer can assess what is needed to maintain it.
We start with the tasks your editors handle most often. Reviewing examples of real content helps us decide what needs a fixed layout, what can vary and which settings editors actually need.
We consider loading speed when choosing the theme, plugins and page features. Where a feature adds weight, we explain the tradeoff and look for a simpler option that still meets the business need.
We plan page relationships and headings alongside the content. This helps visitors move between related services and gives search systems clearer information about the business, without promising rankings or inclusion in AI answers.

Your editors still get the WordPress admin they know. What changes is everything behind it.
Two of the three Core Web Vitals depend mostly on decisions made in the theme, long before anyone installs a caching plugin.
“Maintenance” often means someone clicking Update all once a month. Real care is mostly the work that happens around that click.

Ask about your projectNot always. We build custom themes and also customize suitable existing themes and page builders. The right choice depends on your design, functionality, budget and plans for growth.
Bedrock organizes dependencies and configuration with Composer and keeps secrets out of the web root; Sage supports reusable Blade templates and a modern asset build with Tailwind CSS. Together they keep the codebase easier to maintain and to update.
We can migrate agreed content and plan redirects for URLs that change. Before the rebuild, we review the existing pages and identify what needs to be preserved. Rankings can change after a rebuild, so we cannot promise that search visibility will remain unchanged.
Yes, for the routine content changes included in the build. We agree which pages and content types you need to manage, then show you how to edit them. A new layout, integration or feature may still need development; we explain those limits at handover.
Yes. We build WooCommerce stores and work on existing ones. The scope can include products, variations, shipping, payments and product templates. We review how you sell before choosing extensions, and identify any external services or paid licenses your store will need.
Mainly the number of distinct page types and content types, whether the design is new or already exists, integrations (CRM, booking, payments), the amount of content to migrate and multilingual needs. We estimate after a short call and a review of what you have.
You do. The code, the site and every account — domain, hosting, analytics, search tools — belong to you and are registered to you. At handover you receive the code, documentation and access. Third-party themes, plugins and services keep their own license terms; we list them, and paid licenses are registered in your name.
